Okay so I finally finished watching Sister of Pearls. In the beginning I was really excited and really desperate to watch it because of Jessica! She hasn't been filming TVB dramas in a while, and she's one of my favourite actresses! I really love watching her :) but the cast didn't seem that interesting to me... the trailer was pretty cool, from what I remember. But I dont exactly remember much of it... So lets start from the beginning.
In the beginning, when I first started watching it, it was actually really good! Well the first 3eps were. I liked the first episode alot, and was really waiting to watch Jessica do a bad/evil character! It was gonna be her first one! She actually wasn't that evil, but she wasn't the normal type of good girl you would see her as in a drama. After the 3rd episode or something, I stopped watching it for a while because i had no incentive or motivation. I just would watch it when I had nothing else to watch, and just for the heck of finishing it. But I really disliked Kiki throughout the whole series! She's just mean, and really hated her on screen time. She was so mean to Jessica, and like comon that's your sister! XD When she mad Tim Zhai leave Jessica I was so sad, and it was really sad!! I just kept crying there, and I was eating dinner too LOL! But that was really mean of her... okay, I should just talk about overall and then each invidivual character... Overall it wasn't that bad, but some characters had a 360degree turn! The saddest and worst thing I thought was that Michael died in the end to save Jessica!!! That was really sad :( I feeel so sorry for him, and literally thought it wasn't fair! Bowie(evilest char) didn't die, but Michael(the good guy) dies?! like wtf? What kind of ending is taht!!! XD
Jessica Hsuan: Great character, loved her son, did anything to protect him, got back at her sister Kiki. She was the reason why I was watching this series. She did a good job, and I actually believed when she was flirting with Bowie. Thought they could have made a couple and go to the states and pick up Tim Zhai... :( *sigh* that woulda been great. But I really liked her relatiopnship with Michael. They make a cute, and funny couple lol! Its hard to explain that... I thought she would have became really evil after Kiki stole Tim Zhai from her tough... but she wasn't really.
Michael Tao: I must say, he was one of my favourite characters!! Never liked watching him before, but now hes pretty good! Felt really bad for his character dying like I said previously. He's a guy who doesn't do anything for free, only for money or something. He changed throughout the drama, and started liking Bik Ha and helping her alot! That was touching :) And how he got back "ho yuet" for the 3 sisters!! Realyl sad how he lost his legs, and still died!!!
Bowie Lam: Evil guy in the show. In the beginning you don't really notice him planning or everything. He always tries to kill Michael and steal Ho Yuet. He kills many people just for his revenge on Kiki. I thought he should have died in the end instead of Michael! Not fair how he got rescued and only went crazy...
Kiki Sheung: Hated her throughout the show. She pissed and annoyed me whenever I saw her. She was just so mean and cruel to Jessica and her sisters. She always thought that Bowie and Jessica loved each other and that he was cheating behind her. And she also took Tim Zhai away from Jessica :(
Joyce Tang: She did good! In the beginning she was an "uhm chun" and always just ate during the dinners while the sisters would fight. I remmeber when she didn't know anything and just wanted to take their money and leave asap. But then she turned into a "lui keung yan" after she had Pak Luen. She did everything to protect him and his shares, from whoever would harm him. She didnt care who the person was, and stood up firm. She had a big change and did pretty well :) It was good in the beginning how she just pops up.
Macy Chan: She was a little girl in the beginning like a princess. She annoyed me a bit in the beginning, but later turned okay. Her and Joel was a pretty good match.
Joel Chan: He was really honest, and didn't know anything much. He was funny and enjoyed watching him.

Scenes: Jessica and Michael scenes. I would recommend the one where Jessica looses Tim Zhai as its really touching and the ending where Michael saves Jessica. Those are really touching scenes.
My Rate to this series: 7/10
Worth Watching: Its okay... if you like the cast and the time period you should watch it. But if you don't then only watch it when you have time. Imo, I dont like the time period, so that slowed me down a bit. It kind of resembles Moonlight Resonance or GOL, like fighting in the family for wealth and everything.
